The CJHuang Group works at the intersection of battery materials, electrochemistry, and synchrotron characterization. Members get hands-on experience designing cells, running beamline experiments at NSRRC and APS, and turning observations into design decisions. The group is small, the projects are real, and members are expected to own them.

Required
- BS or MS in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related field
- Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in batteries or energy storage
- Good English communication; ability to work both independently and in a team
Helpful
- Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing or materials synthesis
- Familiarity with characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, spectroscopy)
- Programming literacy (Python, MATLAB)
- Prior research experience — undergraduate thesis, summer research, internships
Master's Students
2026 intakeProjects available across solid-state batteries, anode-free Li metal, and advanced characterization. Funding may be available for qualified candidates. Applications go through NTUST's official admission cycles — recommendation-based and entrance examination.

Undergraduate Researchers
Year-roundTaiwan Tech undergraduates are welcome to join for independent study, summer research, or senior thesis projects. A good way to get into research before graduate school — you'll be running real experiments, not just observing.
